1. Someone asked me which I liked the most.
2. I must say its really a difficult question. Firstly, badminton was the first sport I took up in my life. Its really an interesting sport which requires alot of thinking and wrist work.
3. Tennis, the second sport I took up. I actually put in alot of effort into it and I am glad I am able to at least hit some balls and do some fancy stuff like slicing and spinning.
4. Ping Pong. Its a very difficult racquet or bat game. Alot of control is needed to play the sport properly. Initially, over the last few years, I tried really hard to play ping pong but well, lets just say I failed miserably.
5. Then, I went on my Alaskan cruise and out of boredom, I kept on playing it with the Americans and I gradually became better and better. It turned out that the whole problem was the grip. I was holding the Asian grip which is really tough for beginners to control. I switched to the American grip and its easier to control the strength. Again, alot of wristwork and strategising is needed.
6. To be fairly honest, I still like badminton more than the others. Tennis is probably my least favourite due to the lack of proper training after Aunty Lovie was rudely told to go away by the school. Its also because of the lack of practice and I would rate tennis as my worst racquet/bat game.
7. I like ping pong because thats the only sport my pitiful brother can keep up with me. I think I am fairly good in it for a beginner as I beat a few of my class aces on it, notably Pradeep and Zhen Yeap. I only learnt it seriously in August, so I am really happy with my progress.
8. I never liked football or basketball due to the roughness of both games. I prefer to stick to badminton courts where we don't push each other or kick each other. Both games are really uncivilised if you think of it and aimless as well. Whats so fun about 23 people (including ref.) chasing after a ball and kicking it into a rectangular metallic frame?
9. Its also a fact that ping pong actually consumes alot of energy. I always roll my eyes when certain people in my class laugh at the seemingly atrocious fact that we actually SWEAT while playing ping pong. Of course we do! The amount of concentration and manipulation is much more intensive than a simple basketball or football game. Its so much more difficult than KICKING a ball around the field!
10. I think my blogging standard is going downhill, but well thats just because of the holidays I suppose. The lack of activity in my brain is probably going to cost me a bomb in my mid terms next year....
