1. Over the years, Christmas seems to have lost its meaning among Malaysians. Let me now remind everyone of the significance of Christmas.
2. Christmas is Jesus Christ's birthday. Christians gather and pray on this day and conduct certain ritualities.
3. Then, many years later, the atrocious notion of a white bearded fat man flying across the sky landing on house roofs and jumping down the chimmney to put presents in red stockings, emerged.
4. People began to exchange presents as a sign of goodwill. Although such exchanging of presents are something good, but its really not part of Christmas.
5. Later on, people began calling Christmas as X'Mas. Let me now clarify the meaning of the "X". It is actually an Anglo Saxon abbreviation of the word "Christ". It appears that people are too lazy to write the word "Christ"! The whole purpose of celebrating this day revolves around the word Christ and people omit it. They might as well not write it...
6. The midnight sales frenzies caused by shopping centres to generate profit is going into overdrive. People no longer appreciate Christmas and what it stands for. Instead of that, people engage in such frenzies to get the best bargains.
7. So, my dear readers, reflect on what Christmas mean before you go on such sales. Its Christ's birthday, not yours!
8. The above is strictly written from the viewpoint of a non-Christian who does not believe in the strange notion of Santa Clause and believes that Merry Christmas should not be written as Merry X'mas.
