With all this talk about legalizing homosexual acts, I was just pondering what would happen if such acts were indeed legalized.

Imagine men walking hand in hand with other men down Orchard Road, kissing, fondling and making out.For that matter, imagine all that taking place on the MRT.

Instead of teachers dealing with boy-girl relationships, teachers would have to deal with boy-boy relationships.

Then, you might have the homosexuals all over Asia descending upon Singapore to flaunt what they cannot in their own countries.

Something to think about for the future of Singapore.

Leaving aside my religious views on this matter, I am against any change of
law/policy on homosexuals because:

1. They threaten the social fabric of the nation. Their ways represent an
alternative for which we should not accept as being
mainstream.

2. They cannot procreate and thus cannot produce
offspring for our
nation.

3. They cannot serve as soldiers
because instead of serving alongside our
men in green, they are more keen to
sodomise them.

I do not accept the notion that homosexuals are
"creative" and thus we need
homosexuals to make our nation more "creative".
There is no evidence to suggest
that homosexuals are any more or less
creative than heterosexuals.

The above was probably the biggest pile of bullshit I had read since the start of the year. Let me dissect his case, point by point.

Point 1:

They threaten the social and moral fabric of the nation. Their ways represent an
alternative for which we should not accept as being mainstream.

Why should we not accept their views as mainstream? Do not confuse your own 1940s thinking with mine. And do not presume to speak for the rest. They threaten YOUR social and mental fabric. Not mine, not my neighbors' or my friends. I refuse to be lumped in with your bunch of bigots to legitimise your discrimination.

Isn't it also arrogant to assume YOUR opinion as the mainstream opinion?

Sexual orientation, just like food and music preferences, are but personal preferences that do not necessarily harm a society or cause societal upheavals.

Point 2:

They cannot procreate and thus cannot produce offspring for our nation.

So what? The poster meant that sincegays cannot procreate and thus it is detrimental to society. Henceforth should we not consider banning impotent men as well?

Moreover, there are tons of heterosexual women and men who refuse to procreate due to the burden a new living child brings.

Point 3:

They cannot serve as soldiers because instead of serving alongside our men in
green, they are more keen to sodomise them

Countless homosexuals have served in the army and we have not heard of rampant sodomy in the armed forces (which are quite shorthanded in the first place). Kindly share your experience of any dishonourable soldier who is more keen to sodomy a fellow heterosexual soldier than to serve the nation.

We have however seen and heard of countless cases of pre-marital sex, teen abortions, STD infections in co-ed schools, polytechnics and universities. Will making co-education institutions illegal solve our problems?

Point 4 :

Then, you might have the homosexuals all over Asia descending upon Singapore to
flaunt what they cannot in their own countries.

That by far is the silliest argument I have heard. Taiwan and Hong Kong, if I am not wrong openly allow homosexuality. You don't see the whole of Asia converging upon both nations do you?

Moreover, why the hell would anyone want to migrate to Singapore of all places just because it allows gay activity? Why not HK or Taiwan?

Point 5:

Ok, if I see heterosexuals walking hand in hand, kissing, fondling and making out on Orchard Road, I will still turn away in disgust. Its public display of affection.

Indeed, though I won't call myself homophobic, it sure isn't comfortable watching men perform PDA (public displays of affection). But I personally find watching people eat live bugs on Fear Factor much more repulsive and morally decadent than PDA. Still, I would strongly disagree to a law that bans people from eating live bugs in public or private.

If you have alternative preferences for your daily protein intake, demonstrating it in public doesn't give me an urge to follow in your footsteps. But if I were to ban you from doing so, I am imposing my preferences on you and giving myself supreme power in determining what is "natural" and "morally correct".

Therefore, I do not understand how close minded certain individuals are in Singapore and some more, they are supposed to be more open minded than us Malaysians.

Rarely is the question asked, "What the fuck is wrong with gays?"
