After adjourning the Student Council meeting and while I was walking out from the room, I was instantly bombarded with complaints regarding the ticket prices of prom by Vhysh and a few others.
As I was at that moment still in the dark about everything, I was quite taken aback and blur. Apparently, its 60 bucks per student while 45 bucks per part time teacher. I was being pestered continuously until I reached the KBSR side.
After that, when I logged into msn at home, I was again bombarded by people on how high the price was. I couldn't believe it myself and I thought that there must be some reason for the price increase. Therefore, I merely told everyone who asked me about it to be patient and let me understand the whole situation before I comment any further.
Without further ado, I smsed Mrs Leong and apparently there is a 5 course western dinner and the graduates are not paying. Therefore, the school is already subsidising for them and the teachers as well. After thinking about it, I believe its quite reasonable.
However, I do believe that part time teachers should come in free as well. Mrs Leong is already working hard to get them free tickets since there's only 4 of them anyway, namely Mr Teh, Mr Lingam, Mr Francis and Ms Shanti.
Next week, the Student Council will be meeting Mrs Leong after Assembly to discuss about what we can help and I am gonna ask the relevant representatives to explain to their classes about the high prices. I am sure with proper explanation, the students will understand about it.
One thing I have not brought up to Mrs Leong is that the KBSM 2s are pestering to go to prom. I know they are too young but some of them like Inbba and Kevin are kinda mature and they have siblings graduating as well. I am kinda split over this issue and what I will probably propose is that only student from the lower classes with siblings graduating are allowed to attend. Fair enough?
On a less serious note, I am currently sick. I have a mild cough and my voice is going hoarse after the 1 hour meeting yesterday where I had to constantly shout at the top of my voice to control those over enthusiastic representatives.
