There was a very dramatic incident this morning at school. Apparently, a hive of hornets decided to set up shop on the big tree at the roundabout. (I know, what a poor choice of location)
Then, some students got stung by the hornets when some smart aleck agitated the hornets. THe hornets flew out and stung poor Ms Davids who was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Almost a dozen hornets stung her on the head and on Ming's head as well.
The unfortunate victims were promptly sent to the hospital by the school bus while Pn Zalyah announced that there was no assembly and we were to return to our homeroom. The Civil Defense team came and left after like 15 minutes.
We were then told to congregrate at the field for a special briefing. Mr Phang decided to take this auspicious or rather inauspicious moment to go around taking photos. What a lame thing to do during a crisis. UTTERLY SILLY AND UNPRODUCTIVE. Therefore, Mr Raj and I decided to poke fun at it by posing for a few photos.
Anyway, the whole area was cordoned off and the hive of hornets was left to rest. We spent the whole Bio lesson poking fun at the school and dissecting the dead hornets. For some mysterious reasons, the hornets were all decapicitated. We could not find their heads. I wonder what happened to them.
Pn Wan got stung, so we didn't have BM class. We had 2 periods of free time and everyone was abit edgy the whole day. We were supposed to be extremely quiet and even the bell was silenced.
Thankfully, we had a very brave, courageous, wise, experienced, farsighted, thoughtful team of administrators lead by a very visionary, inspiring, quick, clever and intelligent principal.
Viva La Mrs Shan!
