Today, 3 people is leaving the Year 10S family. Out of these 3, 2 were great companions, friends and mentors.

Mrs Leong.
I first knew Mrs Leong when I saw her whistling and telling us off for playing with Ice during lunch break in Form 1. My first impression of her was a very strict, loud and evil woman.

Then, that was followed by my first debate which turned into a fiasco. However, when I switched into Year 8, I was in a totally new environment. Mrs Leong taught me History. I initially feared her and her lessons, but, lo was I shocked when she started cracking jokes and all. The class was so relaxed and at ease.

As I said today, some history teachers choose to drone on and on, some choose to dump a ton of notes on us, but OUR history teacher did none of the above. She managed to finish her syllabus by just telling us stories, asking us to draw on manila cards and playing games with us. She truly has a way around with history.

Then, in Year 10, she became our class teacher. It was then I came to know her better. When anyone has problems, she seem to be the only one they go to. She always gives sound advice and consolation.

Certain people may dislike her popularity with the students, but it is this said popularity that enables her to become an effective and competent teacher.

After 3 years of knowing her, it turned out that the first impression of her was dead wrong. She was not evil, neither was she as strict as I thought she was. She can be strict, but well, thats only when people irritate her to no bounds. Yeah, she has her bad hair days, but well, as I said earlier, Year 10 S is a family and we tolerate each other, right?

Sean George Chan Poh Wah
I first knew Sean approximately 10 years ago. He was a nice and small boy then. 7 years later when I returned to IIS, I was shocked to find him big, fat and looking nowhere like how he used to look like.

Sean and I aren't the best of friends. I used to hate him so much in Year 8 due to his immaturity. He was a constant pain in the ass with the constant stream of insults and name calling.

In Year 9, he matured slightly and I found out that he wasn't THAT bad. He can be very kind and attentive when he wants to. He was also the one who breaks the ice in classes. Whenever it gets too boring, it's always good to have him to break the boredom before evryone falls asleep.

I think I really got to know Sean better in Year 10. The facebook incident was the trigger that really made me change my opinions on several things. He is the kind of person whose willing to defend his friends through thick or thin.

He was also my campaign manager and he was so enthusiastic. He gave a splendid closing speech to my campaign and he treated the other candidates with respect. We were probably the only pair that really respected everyone. He was so into it and he was so so helpful. He went around asking for support and through his connections, I think he at least won me 30% of the votes.

He is a great person to be around. He is the kind of people who values friendship over other stuff. Year 10S is notorious and it seems that whenever a problem crops up, its Sean's and Year 10S' fault. Well, Sean is part of the family and Year 10S defends our family members and stands by them. His personality brings a different perspective into our family.

We charged as a team and we retreated as a team. Nothing more, nothing less.

People may say many things about the above 2 people, but well, I don't give a damn because family members don't go behind each backs, right?
